TOKYO—MOL PLUS (Representative: Takuya Sakamoto; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) today announced the opening of “MOL PLUS Singapore Desk” in Singapore in March. This is MOL PLUS “2nd overseas branch”, following the MOL PLUS UK Desk which has operated since last July.
The MOL PLUS Singapore Desk will be operated by the New Business Project Team members at MOL (ASIA OCEANIA) PTE. LTD., a 100% subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). In particular, the MOL PLUS Singapore Desk will focus on “Start-ups in Maritime and Logistics industries” and “Start-ups who is seeking to solve social issues in Southeast Asia”. MOL PLUS will expand the creation of investment and collaborative opportunities and achieve an organizational structure that allows for greater speed and agility through locally based searches of new technologies and new businesses.
Following the opening of the UK Desk and the Singapore Desk, MOL PLUS plans to establish global desks in other focus areas, as it aims for continued steady growth as a global corporate venture capital (CVC) fund in the ocean shipping industry.
